TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Marmara Region Meeting Held in Yalova
The Marmara Region Meeting of the Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TOBB) Women Entrepreneurs Council was held in Yalova, hosted by the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting, attended by women entrepreneurs from the region, representatives of the business world, and stakeholder institutions, concluded with a packed program.
At the opening of the meeting, Hayrete Yenikan, President of the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women Entrepreneurs Council; Nurcan Babalık, President of the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Marmara Region and Kocaeli Women Entrepreneurs Council; Cemil Demiryürek, President of the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors; and Mehmet Gürel, Mayor of Yalova, addressed the participants. Following the opening speeches, a film showcasing Yalova's natural, tourism, and economic potential was shown to the guests from outside the city.
As part of the program, Hayrete Yenikan, President of the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women Entrepreneurs Council, gave a comprehensive presentation on the council's activities. The presentation included: The details of the board meetings, visits and openings, commission work, training projects, organized events, inter-institutional collaborations, and protocols signed within the scope of the "Women's Hand in Industry" project were shared.
Following the program, Yalova University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Senay Yürür gave a presentation on "Effective Communication Techniques and the Importance of Women's Entrepreneurship." The presentation, which was followed with great interest by the participants, addressed the role of communication skills in business life and the contributions of women's entrepreneurship to economic and social development.
As part of the meeting program, participants also visited the Yalova Bonsai Museum, which holds the distinction of being Turkey's first bonsai museum. During the visit, information was provided about the origins of bonsai art, techniques for growing miniature trees in harmony with nature, and the aspects of this art that require patience, aesthetics, and discipline. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about this special art form by examining examples of different types of bonsai displayed.
The program continued with a visit to the Thermal Atatürk Pavilion, giving participants the opportunity to see firsthand the traces of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Yalova. Following this visit, which showcased historical and cultural values, the Marmara Region Meeting concluded.
The meeting, which provided an important platform for developing women's entrepreneurship, strengthening regional collaborations, and sharing best practices, ended after productive discussions.
