Vocational Education and Industry Meeting Held at Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry
A Vocational Education and Industry Meeting was held at the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of the Minister of National Education, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin. The program, moderated by Cemil Demiryürek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was attended by the Governor of Yalova, Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Usta; the Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, Head of Organization and Yalova Member of Parliament, Ahmet Büyükgümüş; AK Party Yalova Member of Parliament, Meliha Akyol; the General Director of Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education, Salih Kaygusuz; the AK Party Yalova Provincial Chairman, Umut Güçlü; the Yalova Provincial Director of National Education, Aytekin Yılmaz; the Chairman of the YTSO Assembly, Abdurrahman Tutuğ; and other provincial protocol members. The program also saw significant participation from the Yalova education community, businesses operating in the city, civil society organizations, and members of the press.
Cemil Demiryürek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry (YTSO), delivered the opening speech of the program, offering assessments on Yalova's trade and education life and highlighting the importance of vocational and technical education in training the qualified human resources needed by various sectors. Demiryürek informed the participants about the initiatives undertaken by YTSO to guide students towards vocational high schools and strengthen vocational education. In this context, the work carried out within the framework of Genç Rota and YTSO Academy was presented, and activities aimed at strengthening the link between education and the business world were shared. A 10-point "Vocational Education and Employment Projection," prepared by the Chamber to improve vocational education in Yalova and more strongly integrate it with employment, was presented to the Minister of National Education, Mr. Yusuf Tekin.
In his speech, Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin touched upon the importance of vocational and technical education in Turkey's economic and social development, emphasizing the importance of keeping vocational education programs up-to-date in line with the needs of the sector. Tekin provided information on practices aimed at strengthening the relationship between vocational high schools and the industry, and asked industrialists and civil society organizations to contribute to raising public awareness about Vocational Training Centers (MESEM).
The program, which included discussions on more strongly aligning vocational education with industry needs, supporting students' educational processes with the business world, and developing a qualified workforce, concluded after answering questions from representatives of associations, civil society organizations, and businesses.
