An Important Step in Termal's UNESCO Journey

A signing ceremony was held for the application file prepared to include Termal's natural and cultural values ​​in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.

The program, organized in cooperation with TÜTAP and Termal Municipality, was attended by TÜTAP President Fikret Yıldız, Termal Mayor H. Sinan Acar, TÜTAP Vice President Murat Çebi, YTSO Board of Directors President Cemil Demiryürek, Board of Directors Vice President Galip Atik, and TÜTAP Board of Directors members.

Speaking at the program, YTSO Board of Directors President Cemil Demiryürek stated that Yalova has shown significant development in the industrial and economic fields, and emphasized the importance of the city also standing out in tourism, culture, education, and international promotion efforts in the future.

Expressing his satisfaction that an important promotional process has been initiated for Termal following the Yürüyen Köşk (Walking Mansion), Demiryürek said that YTSO will continue to support projects that will contribute to the promotion of Yalova and the development of its tourism potential.

Demiryürek emphasized that Termal is one of Yalova's most important tourism destinations, stating that the UNESCO process will significantly contribute to Yalova's tourism potential by increasing the district's international recognition.

Galip Atik, Vice Chairman of the Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the importance of Termal for the Yalova economy, noting that tourism directly generates economic activity in many sectors, primarily accommodation, food and beverage, and retail. Atik stated that the UNESCO process, by making Termal known to a wider audience, will significantly contribute to the Yalova economy and local businesses.
